Sections
A quote is made of sections. + Add Section opens the section types: Parts & Products, Labour, Package, Optional Upgrades and Custom, or an alternative to another section. Double-click a section title to rename it; the ⋯ on a section has Rename section, Offer as an alternative to…, Move up, Move down and Remove section.
Offer as an alternative to… turns two sections into "this or that": the customer takes one, and the other comes out of the total. Take this alternative swaps which one is in.
Adding lines
- The line row: type a description, or search the catalogue by name or SKU, and press + Add. A product brings its price (the customer's company price if they have one; see Price tiers). If the quote has a vehicle, a part that may not fit shows Check fitment before adding.
- + Add Text: a heading or a note the customer reads between the lines. No qty, no price.
- + Add Package or Block: a prebuilt package with its components and choices (from Inventory → Packages).
- + Add Choice: a set of alternatives the customer picks from, such as three wheel options. Set it to Pick one or Pick any, then Add an option.
- ⌸ Paste multiple lines…: paste lines copied from a spreadsheet or a supplier's quote.
- 🚚 Add freight…: prices delivery for the goods in that section and adds it as a line. It needs your ship-from address in Settings → Shipping & freight.
- 🔧 Canned Job: adds a standard job's parts and labour (from Workshop → Canned Jobs).
- ✨ AI Assistant: suggests a build from a description, with good / better / best options and upsells. You choose what goes on.
Per-line options
| On the line | What it does |
|---|---|
| Opt? | Makes it an optional upgrade. It's not in the total; the customer ticks it on the proposal to add it. Click the chip to pre-tick it instead (in the total, but they can untick it). |
| Dep? | Counts the line toward the deposit, when the quote's Deposit is set to Items. |
| Customer sets qty | The customer chooses how many on the proposal, between a minimum and maximum you set. |
| + hide qty (or + hide hours on labour) | The customer sees the line's amount only, with no qty or unit price. |
| ⤒ bundle into line above | Folds this line (say, the fitting labour) into the line above, so the customer sees one line at one price. You and the workshop still see both. detach makes it its own line again. |
| In the part's price | On labour linked to a part: ticked, the customer sees the part alone with the labour priced in; unticked, the labour shows under it with its own price. |
Bundles and hidden quantities carry through to the sales order and the invoice the customer gets. Your accounting system still gets every line.
Line columns
The Line columns menu (the columns button above the lines) shows or hides Total (inc GST), Disc %, Cost (ex GST) and GP% on your screen. A hidden column keeps its values. Cost and GP% only show to people who can see margins.
What the customer chose
After the customer accepts, the rail's Customer's Choices card shows what they took and what they left out. Optional Upgrades they left unticked go to Deferred work.
