Change prices on many products: increases, decreases, markup, rounding

Tick products — or every product of a brand, category or supplier — and raise or lower a price by % or $, set it, or work it from cost or another price, with rounding to .95 or .99. Preview first, apply now or on a date, undo any time.

Where it is

Choose the products

On Products, filter to what you want (a brand, category or supplier, say), tick the box at the top, then Select all N matching. Press Change prices in the dark bar.

Set the change

  • Price: Sell $, Dealer $, Trade $, Franchise $, Min sell $ or RRP. People who can see costs can also change Cost $.
  • Change it:
  • By a percentage: up or down, e.g. up 5% for a supplier increase.
  • By a dollar amount: up or down. Amounts are with GST, like the prices customers see.
  • Set to a price: every product to one price.
  • Cost + markup % and Margin % on cost (if you can see costs): from each product's own cost. Products with no cost are left alone.
  • From another price: e.g. Dealer $ = Sell $ minus 20%.
  • Rounding: whole dollars, ending .95, ending .99 or the nearest $5, on the price with GST.
  • Leave a product alone if its new price would be below cost (on by default), and Skip changes bigger than N% to catch a product with an odd price.
  • A Franchise $ kept in step by Franchise % off RRP isn't changed here; change the % instead.

Preview, then apply

Preview lists every product's price now and after (biggest changes first), with margin before and after if you can see costs, and says how many are left alone and why. Change N prices applies it. The window then shows Undo, and Import / Export → Bulk edit history undoes it later. Undo skips any product edited since.

Shopify

A Sell $ change goes to Shopify straight away for products listed there. It isn't held for approval in Shopify → Pricing, because you chose it. If Shopify is slow, anything left goes within 5 minutes.

On a date

Pick On and a date and time, e.g. the day a supplier increase starts. It's applied within 15 minutes of that time, worked out from the prices products have then. It shows in Bulk edit history under Scheduled price changes until then, where you can cancel it. If whoever scheduled it has left the team by then, it isn't applied.

Who can do it

Changing prices needs inventory.edit. Working from cost, or changing Cost $, also needs permission to see costs.
