Barcodes, carton barcodes and shelf labels
Give a product extra barcodes (a carton that counts as 12, a supplier code), link unknown barcodes as you scan, and print product and bin labels.
Where it is
- Scan Centre → Lookup — Barcodes card: + Add barcode; Print label
- Warehouse → Bin Locations — Print labels for bins
A product's barcodes
A product has one main barcode (on the product's own details) and can have extra barcodes — a carton, an inner pack, a supplier's code. Each extra barcode has Each scan counts: scan a carton of 12 once and 12 are counted.
- In Scan Centre → Lookup, scan or search the product.
- On the Barcodes card, click + Add barcode.
- Scan the carton or supplier label, set Each scan counts, add an optional Label (Carton, Inner pack…), and save.
Extra barcodes work everywhere you scan: PO intake, receiving, stocktakes, pick lists and the pack bench.
An unknown barcode
Scan something BuildTrack doesn't know and you can link it on the spot: search the product, then choose Its main barcode (replaces the product's own — that one stops scanning) or An extra barcode (the main one keeps working).
Printing labels
- Product labels — Print label in Scan Centre → Lookup, or from the product's page. You can also print labels as stock is received.
- Bin (shelf) labels — Print labels on Warehouse → Bin Locations prints one per bin shown; filter by warehouse or search an aisle first and untick any you don't need. One bin: Print label in Scan Centre → Bin.
Give a bin a Barcode / Scan Code if the label you stick on the shelf carries a different code from the bin's name.
