Holds: say why work has stopped

A stopped job stays In progress and wears a hold reason. Press Hold…, pick why, and clear it when work resumes.

Where it is

Settings for this

Only an In progress job can be held.

  1. At the top of the job, press Hold….
  2. Under "Why has work stopped?", pick Waiting on parts, Awaiting approval, Waiting on customer, On hold or In QC (or any hold reason you've added).
  3. The button reads On hold, the reason shows beside the status and on the board card, and a note goes on the activity.
  4. To change it, press On hold and pick another. When work starts again, Clear hold — work resumed.

Mark ready or Back to booked clears the hold by itself. On a phone the technician view has quick Waiting on parts, Awaiting approval and In QC buttons.

On Workshop → Jobs, the All labels filter lists each hold as "Hold: …", and Waiting on Parts turns red above zero.

Settings that change this

Settings → Workshop → Board labels: rename and recolour labels, tick Hold reason to put a label in the Hold menu, + Add label, and Reset to defaults. The five built-in hold reasons can be renamed but not removed. Comeback and Sublet out are labels, not holds.
