Website Builder: create, edit and publish your website

Create a website from your BuildTrack data (template, AI or import your current site), edit pages and sections, save the draft, then Publish to put it live. Stock, prices and listings stay up to date on their own.

Where it is

Settings for this

The Website Builder is on every plan: Marketing → Website. The Marketing sidebar folds to icons here to give the editor room.

Create a website

  1. Press New website (the first time, the wizard opens by itself).
  2. Business type: the closest fit; a hybrid can sell vehicles, parts and builds.
  3. What you do: tick everything the business does; each adds the pages it needs.
  4. Look: a visual style and template family. You can change it any time without rebuilding pages.
  5. Start:
  • Use a template: pages filled from your BuildTrack data.
  • Build with AI: AI writes every page from what BuildTrack knows. Nothing is invented; gaps are marked [EDIT THIS]. Uses AI credits.
  • Import from our website: brings across your current site's look, pages and words. Uses AI credits.
  1. Create it. You get a draft; nothing is public yet.

Edit

  • Pages (left): pick a page, Add page (blank or from a page template), duplicate, delete, reorder, Show in navigation, and Search & social (title, share image, Hide from search engines).
  • Sections: Add a section (search "vehicle", "gallery", "form"…). Click a section for its content, layout, photo (Choose photo to upload or pick one), Content source (live BuildTrack data such as stock, packages or vehicles) and visibility on mobile.
  • Site & style: Business profile and Visual style (colours, typography, Use your brand colour, an AI design pass).
  • AI website editor: describe a change ("add a FAQ about GVM upgrades to Services"), review the proposal, then Apply.
  • Preview on Desktop, Tablet or Mobile. Undo and Redo work as you'd expect.

Save draft saves your work; tick Autosave drafts to save as you go. Version history restores an earlier save as a new draft. Draft review and backup checks links and content and exports a copy.

Publish

  1. Save draft first: publishing takes the saved draft.
  2. Press Publish…, check the Address (your site's name before the sites domain), add What changed if you like, and press Publish.
  3. Later changes: save, then Publish version N. Published versions lets you Make live an earlier one; Take offline hides the site until you publish again.

Prices, stock and listings on the live site update on their own; republish only when you change pages or wording.

Sell online (in the Publish panel) adds Add to cart and checkout: delivery with live freight or pick up, card through your Stripe account or bank transfer. Each order arrives as an invoice and you're notified.

Enquiry forms on the live site go to the Website enquiries form in Forms: each becomes a CRM lead with a follow-up task, and staff get an alert. Change what happens → opens that form.

Your own domain

The site lives at its Address on BuildTrack's sites domain. Settings → Your domain connects your domain for email, customer links and portals; pointing your main website address at a Website Builder site isn't available in the app yet.

Who can do it

Opening it needs Marketing view or Settings view. Editing and publishing need Marketing edit or Settings edit ("Read-only access…" shows otherwise). Data sections that show stock need Inventory view to preview.

If something's not right

  • Publish is greyed out: you have unsaved changes; Save draft first.
  • "The sites domain isn't connected yet": publishing still records the version, but there's no public link yet.
  • "Autosave paused: another editor changed this draft": Reload saved draft to carry on.
