Ask customers for Google reviews

Save your Google review link, then switch on the automatic request after payment, or press Ask for review on an inbox conversation. Clicks are tracked.

Where it is

Settings for this

Reviews are on every plan.

Set it up

  1. In Google Business Profile, choose Ask for reviews and copy the link (it looks like g.page/r/…/review).
  2. Go to Marketing → Reviews, paste it into Your public review link and press Save.
  3. Under Automatic review requests, press Switch on. Two days after an invoice is paid in full, the customer is emailed a link to your review page.

Every invite goes through a tracked link, so Link clicks and the Recent invites list show who clicked.

Send one by hand

Open a conversation in the Inbox and press ★ Ask for review at the top. The customer gets your link straight away. The button shows when the conversation is linked to a contact, and your review link must be saved first ("Add your public review link first" otherwise).

Change it (Marketing add-on)

With the add-on, Open flow takes you to the automation to change the wording, the wait or add an SMS. A business that set up the older "after a job closes" review flow keeps it; the page shows whichever one you have.

If something's not right

  • Switch on is greyed out: save your review link first, or you need Marketing edit permission.
  • Nobody is getting it: the customer needs an email address and email consent, and mustn't be unsubscribed. A customer only gets one request every 90 days.
