Embed a form on your website, or capture the one you have
A form built in BuildTrack goes on your site with one line of code (or a link). A form already on your site can send a copy of every submission to BuildTrack, unchanged, with the Capture snippet.
Where it is
Settings for this
- Form → Embed tab — Embed code and direct link.
- Form → Capture tab — Ingest key, allowed websites, mode and field mapping for a form on your own site.
A form you built here
- Open the form from Forms and go to Embed.
- Copy one of:
- JavaScript Embed (recommended): paste into your website's HTML or page builder.
- iFrame Embed (fallback): for sites that don't allow scripts.
- Direct URL: a link to the form on its own page (good for texts, social and QR codes).
- Changes in the builder go live straight away; you don't paste the code again. The form uses the look from the Style tab.
The forms list also has Embed and Snippet buttons on each form.
A form already on your site ("Already on my site")
Keep your form exactly as it is and capture a copy of each submission.
- Create a form and choose Already on my site, or open any form's Capture tab.
- Under Add the script to your site, press Generate key, then add your website under Allowed origins (for example https://yourstore.com.au) and press Add.
- Choose the Mode:
- Capture a copy (safest): your form keeps working as it does now; BuildTrack gets a copy.
- Take over the submit: BuildTrack handles the submit and shows a thank-you (or uses Redirect after submit). Use when your form currently goes nowhere.
- If the page has more than one form, set a Form selector.
- Copy the Theme snippet into your site's theme, then submit your own form once.
- Press Check again. Under Map their fields to yours, choose what each of their fields Maps to, then Save.
Every submission is stored in full, mapped or not. Mapped fields feed the Routing tab.
Rotate the key if it leaks (paste the new snippet straight away); Revoke stops capture.
Website Builder sites
Enquiry forms on a Website Builder site go to the Website enquiries form automatically. See Website Builder.
If something's not right
- "No submissions received yet": is the snippet on the page, is your site's address under Allowed origins exactly (https, www or not), and was the key revoked?
- "No field is mapped to Email": contacts are matched by phone instead and repeats are more likely to duplicate. Map the email field.
