Connect a supplier's API or BuildTrack Pro catalogue
Keep a supplier's offsite stock, prices, images and fitment current on a schedule from their API, or link to a supplier that runs BuildTrack Pro with one click.
Where it is
- Integrations → Supplier APIs
- Integrations → Linked supply — Two sister businesses: one holds the stock, the other sells it.
Settings for this
- Integrations → Supplier price files — For a supplier who sends a spreadsheet instead.
A supplier on BuildTrack Pro
No setup needed. On the supplier's dealer portal open Data and click Connect my BuildTrack Pro, then sign in to your own business. The feed appears under Connected suppliers, already mapped. See Connect your BuildTrack Pro.
Any supplier with a JSON API
- Open Integrations → Supplier APIs. Under Add a supplier API, pick the supplier and click Add feed.
- Connection: the Base URL and Authentication (Bearer token, Custom header, Query parameter, Basic or None), then paste the key the supplier gave you. It is stored with the feed.
- Endpoints: the catalogue list path, an optional stock path and single-product path, the items array path, the changed since parameter and the Pagination style (Cursor, Page number, Offset or Single page).
- Click Test connection. It reads one page and writes nothing, and shows a sample.
- Auto-map fields, then check the Field mapping (SKU, cost, stock, image and so on).
- What to update: offsite stock, RRP, purchase cost, whether their prices include GST, Product images (fill gaps only, replace the gallery, or don't import), Product spec type and the units dimensions are in.
- Schedule: Check stock every (minutes) and Full catalogue every (minutes), then Sync on this schedule.
Sync stock now and Run a full catalogue sync now run one straight away. Recent runs lists each run. A big catalogue runs in parts and says Partial — continues next tick until it finishes.
Offsite stock is purchasable, never pickable, and shows as plain in stock to dealers, franchises and your website.
Linked supply (sister businesses)
When two of your businesses share stock, Integrations → Linked supply switches the link on, shows when stock and prices last refreshed, and is where each of the supplier's products is matched to the buyer's product once. Owners and admins of both businesses can change it.
If something's not right
- "Map the SKU field first" or "Map the available-quantity field first": finish the field mapping.
- "The supplier API did not respond as expected": check the base URL, key and paths with Test connection.
