Drop ship: the supplier ships straight to your customer
A drop-ship PO sends the goods from the supplier to your customer. Stock never enters your warehouse and the PO closes when the supplier ships.
Where it is
- Purchasing → Purchase Orders — The Drop Ship chip lists drop-ship orders.
- In + New PO, tick Drop ship to customer and pick the Ship-to customer. Their address is copied onto the PO.
- On the PO, the Fulfilment card shows the ship-to address. Edit it to fine-tune, or fill it from the linked sales order or job's customer.
- Send the PO as usual. The printed PO shows the customer's delivery address.
- When the supplier confirms they have shipped, click Mark Shipped to Customer. The PO closes without a stock receipt.
You can turn drop ship on or off later from the Fulfilment card on the PO (Turn off). It isn't offered for orders to head office.
If something's not right
- No Receive Stock button: correct, drop-ship goods never enter your stock.
- Return for Credit isn't offered: drop-ship stock was never received, so it can't be returned from the PO.
