Track a supplier's delivery and delays
Record the carrier, tracking number and the date the supplier now says it arrives. A new date moves the PO, and everything waiting on it, to that date.
Where it is
- Purchasing → Purchase Orders — Overdue filter shows POs past their expected date.
Suppliers send tracking and new dates by email. Put them on the PO so everyone sees the same date.
- Open the PO. On the Supplier Tracking card click + Add tracking.
- Pick the Carrier (or type another), enter the Tracking number and, if the carrier isn't listed, paste a Tracking link.
- Enter Dispatched (when it left) and Arriving (when they now say it lands), and an optional Note such as 2 of 3 cartons, rest next week.
- Save. Track → opens the carrier's tracking page.
Add a second entry for a split consignment. Edit or Remove an entry from the card.
What a new arriving date does
On an open PO, a new Arriving date becomes the PO's Expected date and the date on its outstanding lines. The overdue banner, the workshop calendar and the customer portal follow it, so a delayed part shows up as delayed on the job and the customer's order too. Saving the same date again changes nothing.
Overdue orders
A PO past its expected date shows Delivery overdue by N days at the top, with an Update button for the date. On the list, the Overdue chip and the Overdue Deliveries card count them.
If something's not right
- BuildTrack doesn't poll carriers for you yet: the date changes only when you enter it.
- An order to head office or to a supplier on BuildTrack Pro shows their dispatches and tracking on its own.
