Send email from your own domain
Connect your domain in Settings → Your domain, add the DNS records it lists where you manage DNS, and wait for Verified. Until then email still goes out, from BuildTrack's address with your business name.
Where it is
- Settings → Your domain
- Reports → Deliverability — Sender domain status and bounce rates.
Settings for this
- Settings → Your domain — Add, check and remove your sending domain.
- Content → Brand kit — From name and reply-to for marketing email.
Without your own domain, email still sends: it comes from BuildTrack's shared address with your business name as the sender, and replies go to your reply-to. With your domain verified, quotes, invoices, reminders and marketing come from @yourbusiness.com.au, which lands in inboxes far more reliably.
Set it up
- Go to Settings → Your domain. (Marketing's Your domain link opens the same page.)
- Type your domain and press Connect. If you already have a web address connected, use Send from @yourbusiness.com.au instead.
- The DNS records list shows what to add. For email that's usually:
- an MX and a TXT (SPF) record on the send subdomain,
- a TXT (DKIM) record at resend._domainkey,
- DMARC and a CNAME, marked Add (optional).
- Sign in where you manage DNS for the domain (Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Crazy Domains, VentraIP…). Add every record marked Add or Fix. Use Copy beside each name and value so nothing is mistyped.
- Come back and leave the page open (it checks every 30 seconds) or press Check now. Each record moves to Found, checking and then Done. When Email shows Verified, you're finished. Leave the records in place.
Why it's stuck on "Not verified" / "Waiting for DNS"
- A record still says Add: it isn't in your DNS yet, or it's on the wrong name. Many DNS hosts add your domain to the end automatically: enter send, not send.yourbusiness.com.au.
- A record says Fix: your DNS has a different value at that name. The most common one: two DKIM keys at resend._domainkey. The page lists the extra value; delete it and keep only the one shown.
- Cloudflare: set CNAME records to DNS only (grey cloud), not proxied.
- Just added: it's usually minutes, but DNS can take up to 24 hours. The page stops checking on its own after about 10 minutes; press Check now later.
- Records say Done but it isn't Verified yet: press Check now once more; the email provider checks on its own timetable.
- The page has no Connect button: you need Settings edit permission.
What else uses it
- Campaign preflight shows Sender domain verified or a warning, and still sends either way.
- The From name on marketing comes from the Brand kit; on documents, from your business name.
- Stop sending from @… on the same page switches back to BuildTrack's address.
