Chase overdue invoices: payment reminders
Turn on automatic reminder emails (before and after the due date) in Settings → Quotes & invoices, or send one by hand from the invoice.
Where it is
- Invoices → Overdue — Every invoice past its due date with money owing.
Settings for this
- Settings → Quotes & invoices → Automatic Payment Reminders — Off by default. Pick when: 7 or 3 days before due, on the due date, 7/14/30 days overdue.
- Settings → Branding — Logo and colour on the reminder email.
- Integrations → Stripe — Adds a Pay invoice online button to reminders.
Automatic reminders
- Open Settings → Quotes & invoices → Automatic Payment Reminders.
- Tick Email customers a reminder about unpaid invoices.
- Choose the moments: 7 days before due, 3 days before due, On the due date, 7 days overdue, 14 days overdue, 30 days overdue. They count from each invoice's due date, so set due dates (the Terms on the invoice).
- Save changes.
Each reminder comes from your business name with your logo and brand colour; replies go to your business email. It shows the balance and your bank details, plus Pay invoice online when card payments are on for invoices. A reminder is skipped if the invoice was paid, voided or credited before it went.
Send one now
On the invoice: Send reminder on the strip (once the invoice has been sent), or More → Send Payment Reminder. The email opens pre-filled ("Reminder:" or "Overdue:") with the PDF attached — edit and send.
Every reminder, automatic or manual, is listed in the invoice's Reminders panel on the right with when it went and whether it sent.
Find what's overdue
- The Overdue tab and the Overdue card on Sales → Invoices.
- Due date filter: Overdue, Due in 7 days, Due this month, No due date.
- Outstanding shows everything with a balance.
- A customer statement shows the aging for one account.
Supplier payment reminders (bills you owe) are separate — see Supplier payment reminders.
