Pack Sizes (AI): fill in packed dimensions and weights
Freight quotes need each product's packed size. Pack Sizes finds missing ones with Pack AI or web research, and you approve each before it is saved.
Where it is
Settings for this
- Integrations → Freight carriers — Connect Pack to the Future to use the Pack AI tab
- Settings → Shipping & freight — How the packed size turns into a freight price
- Settings → AI usage — Web research uses your AI credits
The Freight action prices carriers from each product's packed size (length, width, height, weight and packed as). Products → Pack Sizes (AI) fills in the ones that are missing.
Choose what to size
The bar at the top counts the products missing a packed size in the scope you pick:
- Sold in the last 30, 60 or 90 days, 6 or 12 months, or the Whole catalogue.
- All suppliers, All brands, All categories.
- Run on next 10, 25, 50 or 100 most-sold.
Preview list shows exactly which products the next run covers. Products already waiting for review are skipped.
Pack AI tab
Uses Pack to the Future's product AI. It needs Pack connected under Integrations → Freight carriers.
- Click Estimate with Pack AI. It answers about 18 products a minute; keep the page open.
- Review the results below.
Teach Pack your catalogue (Send N to Pack) sends the sizes you already have, so its answers get better. Every size you approve is sent to Pack too.
Web research tab
Searches the supplier's website first, then the wider web, and links its sources.
- Open-web fallback is on by default.
- Estimate when nothing is published (off by default) makes a low-confidence guess for you to check.
Click Find pack sizes.
Review and approve
- Each result shows the sizes, packed as, the source and a confidence. Change any figure before approving.
- Click Approve to save it to the product, or Reject.
- Approve all high confidence does the sure ones in one go.
You can also tick products on the Products list and choose More → Find pack sizes (AI); the results land here.
To enter a size by hand, or a product that ships as several boxes, use Edit product → Packed size. See Create a product.
Who can do it
The tab shows on the Products menu with inventory.edit.
