Modules & flow: switch areas on and choose how a sale flows
Switch the Workshop module off if you never fit anything, and choose what an accepted quote turns into: a sales order, an invoice, or either by quote type.
Where it is
Settings for this
- Settings → Modules & flow — Workshop on/off; When a quote is accepted
- Settings → Orders — "Turn accepted quotes into orders" automatically
- Settings → Billing & plan — Paid add-ons (Dealer portal, Manufacturing, DMS…)
Settings → Modules & flow has two parts. Change them, then press Save.
Modules
Workshop covers jobs, inspections, canned jobs, courtesy cars, technicians and the workshop reports. It's On by default.
Switch it Off if the business sells and ships but never fits anything. Then:
- Workshop, Inspections, Canned Jobs, Courtesy Cars, the workshop reports and every "create a job" button disappear for everyone.
- New jobs can't be created anywhere, including through the API.
- The customer portal's Jobs and Inspection Reports tabs are hidden too.
- The Workshop permission rows disappear from Roles.
- Nothing is deleted. Switch it back on and everything returns.
Keep it on if you use Manufacturing: its job calendar is the workshop board.
Sales orders, invoices, warehouse, dispatch and purchasing are always on. Paid areas such as the Dealer portal, Marketing Hub, Support, the Showroom POS, the DMS and Manufacturing are add-ons, switched on under Billing & plan.
When a quote is accepted
This picks the main button on an accepted quote. The other routes stay one click away.
- By quote type (default): build and accessories quotes become a sales order; service and repair quotes become a workshop job. With Workshop off, every accepted quote becomes a sales order.
- Sales order: holds the stock for the customer and handles deposits, backorders and dispatch, then invoices.
- Invoice: straight to an invoice. Stock leaves when the invoice is dispatched; nothing is held before then.
To have accepted quotes convert on their own, tick Turn accepted quotes into orders under Settings → Orders. It follows the choice made here. See From quote to invoice.
Who can change it
Only an owner or admin (anyone with Edit settings). Others see the page read-only.
