Custom fields on contacts and companies
Add your own fields (text, number, date, yes/no or dropdown) to contacts and companies. Fill them in on the contact's or company's page, or from a form.
Where it is
Settings for this
- Settings → Custom fields — Contact Fields and Company Fields tabs.
Add a field
- Open Settings → Custom fields (in the How you work group).
- Pick the Contact Fields or Company Fields tab and press + Add Field.
- Enter the Label (e.g. Fleet number). The Field Key fills itself in; it's used internally.
- Choose the Field Type: Text, Number, Date, Yes / No or Dropdown. For a dropdown, type the Options separated by commas.
- Tick Required field if it must be filled, then press Add Field.
You can rename a field's label or delete it from the list later. Deleting a field removes it from every record.
Where they show
- On a contact's page, in the Custom Fields block under Details. Click a value to edit it. Manage comes back here.
- On a company's page, the same Custom Fields block under Details (on a phone, the Details tab) shows the company fields.
- On forms: in the form builder, set a field's Maps to entity and Maps to field to fill a custom field from submissions (Forms).
Who can do it
