Sync rules: which system wins
For each integration and record type: which system is the source of truth, how fields map, how records are matched, what happens on a conflict, and a queue of sync exceptions.
Where it is
- Integrations → Sync rules
- Sync rules → Exceptions — Records that couldn't sync cleanly
Settings for this
Integrations → Sync rules ("Integration Governance") holds the rules for data moving between BuildTrack and Shopify, Wix, Xero, Meta, Gmail, Outlook and CSV files. Each card opens a page:
- Source of Truth Rules: Add Rule for a record type (or one field) and an integration: which system is authoritative, and the Sync Direction (inbound only, outbound only, two-way, manual only, or do not sync).
- Field Mapping: map BuildTrack fields to the other system's, with a transform (upper or lower case, trim, ISO date, Australian phone, strip HTML). Auto-map fields fills the obvious ones.
- Matching & Deduplication: how an incoming record is matched to one you have (exact, normalised or fuzzy, on all or any fields, or a confidence score), and what to do on a match (update, skip, flag for review, create new).
- Conflict Resolution: when both sides changed: external wins, BuildTrack wins, most recent wins, keep a filled field, merge, or send for manual review.
- Sync Exceptions Queue: records that couldn't sync cleanly. Resolve each with Keep Internal, Use External, Merged, Remapped, Retry Sync or Ignore.
- Mapping Profiles: saved sets of mappings you can clone.
- Governance Audit Log: every rule change and resolution, with Export CSV.
Shopify's stock and price rules are on the Shopify channel itself. See Setting up Shopify. Needs Edit settings.
