Automatic customer texts and emails
Switch on the automatic messages customers get (booking confirmation, job ready, portal invite, review invite, quote reminder), choose channels and edit the wording.
Where it is
- Integrations → Customer notifications — The Customer Messaging page.
Settings for this
- Integrations → Customer notifications → Automations — Each message On/Off, its channels (SMS, email, push) and template.
- Integrations → Inbox, SMS & phone — Texting must be on for SMS to go.
Open Integrations → Customer notifications. The page is called Customer Messaging and has five tabs.
Automations
Each message has an On/Off tick. When it's on, choose its Channels (SMS, EMAIL, PUSH) and Template (or Built-in default):
- Booking confirmation: when an appointment is booked or rescheduled.
- Portal access invite: sends the customer their portal sign-in link.
- Job ready / collection: photos of the finished work, the invoice and a Pay Now button.
- Review invite: asks for a public review. It's a marketing message, so it only goes to customers who've opted in.
- Quote approval reminder: nudges the customer 2 days after a quote is sent, then once more 3 days later, while it's still awaiting approval. Only quotes sent in the last 14 days. Off until you switch it on.
The other tabs
- Templates: write your own wording for each message (SMS text, email subject and body, push title and body).
- Upsell products: products offered on the job-ready page.
- Activity: every message sent, with event, channel, recipient and status.
- Connection: the push and messaging app (shared by default; a dedicated one can be set up).
Opening this page needs Edit settings. What counts as transactional and who can receive what is in SMS and email consent.
