Manufacturing settings: BOM change approval
Decide whether a released BOM can only change through an approved change request, and whether people may approve their own.

- Manufacturing → Settings — The two approval switches (owners and admins only).
- Manufacturing → Work centres — Capacity, labour and overhead rates.
- Settings → Workshop → Work Centres — Use work centres on or off.
- Settings → Team → Roles — Who has Approve or reject BOM changes.
Open Manufacturing → Settings. Only an owner or admin can change these.
BOM change approval
- Require approval for BOM changes. On: once a BOM is released, every change is submitted and approved by someone with Approve or reject BOM changes. They get a notification when one is submitted, and it waits in their Approvals list (see Approvals). Off: anyone who can edit BOMs releases a change directly. Either way the reason is recorded.
- Let people approve their own changes (only when approval is on). Off: whoever raised a change can't approve it. Owners and admins are the exception.
Work centres
Capacity, labour and overhead rates live on Manufacturing → Work centres (Open work centres). Whether work centres are used at all is Settings → Workshop → Work Centres → Use work centres.

- Inventory → Products: reorder points, preferred suppliers, batch and serial tracking, and default contractors on outside-work products.
