Is the Shopify sync actually working?

Health → Status gives each part of the channel a verdict (Working, Needs you, Blocked or Not set up) with the last time it succeeded.

Where it is

Health → Status shows one row per part of the channel: Catalogue links, Stock levels, Price changes, Images & descriptions and Orders coming in. Each has a state rather than a count:

  • Working: it ran recently and had nothing to complain about.
  • Needs you: it's running, but something is waiting on a decision, or it hasn't succeeded for 48 hours.
  • Blocked: it cannot run until you fix setup. Only Stock levels can be blocked, and the cause is always the same: no warehouse is mapped to a Shopify location.
  • Not set up: it has never completed (for Catalogue links: nothing is linked yet).

A row that isn't Working has a link to fix it (Review links, Set up stock, Review prices, Pull content, See what needs attention).

Full sync

Run full sync now runs the whole channel end to end in five steps: SKU matching (link new SKUs, group variant families, spot prices changed in Shopify), stock levels (republish stock and relink broken links), images and descriptions, price changes (send the approved ones) and tracking numbers. The screen shows "Step n of 5" as it goes.

The same steps also run automatically every night, one step at a time, between 16:30 and 17:30 UTC (about 2:30 to 3:30 am in Sydney, an hour later in daylight saving). The steps are separate on purpose: a big catalogue can't do them all at once, so each step records its own result, and a step that runs out of time is picked up by the next run. Between full syncs, queued stock, price and listing changes are sent every five minutes.

If a run stops without reporting, it's marked failed (within about 20 to 40 minutes) rather than appearing to run forever. A red Sync needs attention banner appears when the sync has never completed, the last run failed, a run has been going over 20 minutes, or nothing has completed in 48 hours.
